Orna Logistics

Broward County · Twenty minutes from base

Same-day courier in Fort Lauderdale.

Broward is our home county. The Broward County Courthouse, FLL, Port Everglades and the New River repair yards are all inside half an hour of the van, which means a Fort Lauderdale job is usually rolling before a national carrier has finished assigning it.

A marine city with a drawbridge problem

Fort Lauderdale is the only market we run where the bridges are part of the quote.

The New River bridges and the 17th Street Causeway open on schedule for marine traffic, and an opening at the wrong moment costs ten to fifteen minutes on a route that had no slack in it. Anyone who has sat at the Andrews Avenue bridge with a filing deadline knows the feeling. We plan around the openings instead of pretending they are not there, and if a delivery window is genuinely tight we will say which side of the river we would rather start on.

The other thing Fort Lauderdale has that nowhere else does is boats. Yacht parts to a vessel in a slip, to a refit yard on the New River, or to Lauderdale Marine Center is a real and regular job — and it is one where a high-roof van that can take a twelve-foot part inside, enclosed and out of the salt air, is worth considerably more than a pickup truck with a tarp.

Timing

Fort Lauderdale is the shortest run we make

Every drive time below is from our Pembroke Pines base along I-595, Griffin Road or the Turnpike. In practice a Broward job is often on the road inside an hour of the call.

Boat show week in late October and early November changes all of it — 17th Street and the causeway are effectively closed to normal traffic patterns, so book those runs ahead.

Questions we get on this run

Can you deliver a part to a boat in a slip or a yard?

Yes, and it is a regular job. Give us the vessel name, the yard or marina, the gate procedure and who is receiving, and we deliver to the boat rather than to a front office. Long parts — shafts, rails, line, canvas, tubing — travel inside the van rather than strapped to an open bed, which matters when the alternative is salt spray on the way over.

Do the drawbridges really affect delivery times?

On a tight window, yes. The New River and 17th Street Causeway bridges open on a schedule for marine traffic, and an opening can add ten to fifteen minutes. We route around the likely openings and, if your deadline has no room in it, we will tell you before you book rather than explain it afterward.

Can you get into Port Everglades?

We deliver and collect at the receiving offices, freight stations and warehouses around the port. Secure and restricted terminal areas require credentialed or escorted access, so tell us the exact terminal or CFS on the quote call and we will confirm honestly whether we can reach it directly or whether it needs to be met outside.

What happens during the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show?

The area around 17th Street, the convention centre and the marinas becomes very difficult for several weeks either side, between build-up, the show itself and the breakdown. Runs into that zone are entirely possible but the timings are different, so book early and expect a longer window than the drive time suggests.

Need it moved today?

Tell us the pickup, the drop and the deadline. You will get a firm, all-in price from a person — not an automated estimate.
